Nobel Prize Awarded for studies of G-protein-coupled receptors
10/16
The 2012 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded jointly to Robert J. Lefkowitz and Brian K. Kobilka for studies of G-protein-coupled receptors. The PDB holds many GPCRs, such as Kobilka's groundbreaking structure of the beta2 adrenergic receptor-Gs protein complex shown on this commemorative flyer (PDF).To learn more about GPCRs, see the Molecule of the Month articles on Adrenergic Receptors and G Proteins, and the Author Profile for Brian Kobilka.
