How many structures are in the PDB archive?
10/14
Since 1971, the Protein Data Bank archive (PDB) has served as the single repository of information about the 3D structures of proteins, nucleic acids, and complex assemblies. The Worldwide PDB (wwPDB) organization manages the PDB archive and ensures that the PDB is freely and publicly available to the global community. RCSB PDB is a US Data Center for the wwPDB.
The PDB archive is updated weekly. As of the latest update, the PDB archive contains 123,456 entries. Explore these structures:
- Explore PDB statistics and data distributions
- Learn about the early PDB Pioneer structures at PDB-101
- Explore the PDB archive through categorized data distribution summaries
- Visualize these macromolecular machines, large and small, using the NGL viewer and other tools
