HIV Video Challenge Awards

The RCSB PDB recently challenged high school students to create short videos that tell a story about HIV/AIDS. Our judges were impressed by the science and storytelling techniques shown in the 23 videos submitted online.

Judge's Award

Our panel of expert judges scored the videos based on scientific content (40%), creativity (20%), overall impact (10%), originality of concept (10%), entertainment value (10%), and production quality (10%).

  • First Place: The Lifecycle of HIV

Service to the Community Award

The AIDS Education Training Center (AETC) National Resource Center was looking for possible training materials health care professionals, patients and their families, and selected the Judge's Second Place: HIV: A Cellular Hijacker By Oneida Shushe of Colonie Central High School (Team Advisor: Jason Goldberg)

The resources created in support of this event (suggested resources, tutorials on making videos, and more) will continue to be hosted at PDB-101.
